On 16 November 2024, the focus of GRBV Engineers was not on static calculations but on dynamism and enjoyment as management organised a team event for employees from various locations in Berlin, combining both running and history for an engaging Sightrunning experience.
The group was welcomed at the GRBV offices on Boxhagener Straße before embarking on a jog through the vibrant districts of Friedrichshain and Lichtenberg, reaching their destination, the hotel, after 90 minutes.
The tour was rich in historical insights, such as the reasons behind the relocation of the Frankfurter Tor, the renaming of Stalinallee, and the true origins of Weberwiese, while also showcasing modern landmarks including the world-famous Berghain, where even Elon Musk faced challenges, the Uber Arena, and the RAW grounds.
The artistic element was not overlooked either, as the East Side Gallery, the longest open-air gallery in the world, offered plenty to admire.
Despite the myriad impressions, there were ample opportunities for breaks, conversations, and exchanges among participants, making the nearly 10 kilometres feel effortless, leaving everyone with enough energy for an evening filled with dancing and festivities.
